ebabes/eboys (2016–ongoing)

Callum Leo Hughes experiments with bodily and sexual agency in applications, online services, and social forums. Screenshots, selfies, digital landscapes, profiles, and platforms facilitate the circulation of objects, desires, fantasies, identities in unexpected routes. His ebabes/eboys photo series documents female and male members of the ebay community using their bodies to sell items. Objects blend with human forms producing fetishistic materializations captured in partial body pics. Hughes strategically experiments with the transformations of human capital and the benefits and dangers of digital circulation. At AB6, the ebabes/eboys photographs are printed on everyday household objects and displayed in a pop up designer shop.
