Mission to explore the potential of food as a vehicle for irreverent artistic endeavor and experimentation

Highly mediated, hyper stylized, mouthwatering, and extravagant. Sometimes wholesome, or comfort, artisan, or molecular, food is hard-wired to our ancient brains as the primal means to survival. In an inversed or parallel world, like in the series Stranger Things, the culinary media apostles of Anthony Bourdain, Gordon Ramsay, and Jamie Oliver would be substituted by rogue chefs like The Domestic Godless. The trio come from a remote place with little culinary tradition, Cork, Ireland. Like true descendants of local foragers, they mix their acquired mastery of chemistry and arts in a blended sacrilegious practice that defaces both culinary and performative arts alike. Signature dishes like stuffed ferret, an open skull serving black risotto in place of the brain, a cat food tin with amuse bouche floating in a DIY sushi tray made of sewer pipes, granny’s make-up powder flavored dessert, and a Frankensteinish hot-dog-ice-cream hybrid that commemorates a battle between ice-cream and hot dog vendors’ territorial war, the palette of The Domestic Godless is endless.
